Special Meeting of the COPA Executive Committee for the Summit of the Americas and the Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Women's Network of the Americas, Québec City, April 16-19, 2001
A special meeting of the Parliamentary Conference of the Americas (COPA), took place on April 18 and 19, 2001, just prior to the Third Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Americas. This meeting permitted to the delegates to debate and take a position on fundamental issues, such as the strengthening of democracy and the role of parliaments in the negotiations of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA).
